On September 14th, Aesthetic Perfection made a notable stop at The Surly Wench in Tucson, Arizona, for their only headline show in the state during this tour. Throughout September and October, Aesthetic Perfection will be dividing their time between performing their own headline shows and supporting the renowned artist Till Lindemann on his solo tour, with the addition of Twin Temple also providing support. The show at the Surly Wench was an exceptionally intimate and electrifying experience. Daniel Graves, accompanied by the talented Brooke Colucci on drums and the skilled Noizith on Guitar and Keys, had the enthusiastic crowd moving, dancing, and sweating in unison. If you find yourself with the opportunity to catch this incredible band live, be sure not to pass it up!

The Amity Affliction at Encore, Tucson
(by Stephanie Green)
Pittsburgh has long been in my playlist rotation, especially if I’m feeling lost or down and just need a pick-me-up. The Amity Affliction seems to have that impact on people; if you need a band with meaningful, relatable lyrics to show you are not alone in your feelings, you should listen to The Amity Affliction. This tour showcased the band’s most recent release, Not Without My Ghosts, which to me, felt like a continuation of the 2020 album, Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them. True to their sound, The Amity Affliction continues to bring hard-hitting growls and sincere clean vocals annotated by thunderous beats and technical guitar riffs. Ahren is a force to be reckoned with, playing bass, offering clean vocals, and being the driving force behind the band’s success. The crowd received the new album with utter joy, quickly acclimating to the songs and cataloging them with other The Amity Affliction sing-alongs like Drag the Lake and Soak Me in Bleach.
Photo Coverage:
Keep an eye out for The Amity Affliction beginning September 2023, which is when they return to North America to play some festivals, along with a solid tour with Parkway Drive, Northlane, and Make Them Suffer.

Whitechapel, Archspire, Signs of the Swarm, Entheos at The Nile, Mesa
(by Stephanie Green)
The night opened with Entheos, and if I’m telling the truth, I hadn’t heard of them until now. That being said, color me impressed. Lead vocalist, Chaney Crabb, may be small in stature, but her on-stage presence is larger than life. Her vocal delivery is emotionally laced with anger, pain, and determination. Behind her vocals, the band delivers its own brand of progressive death metal, clearly influenced by groove and funk. The groovy sounds are reminiscent of Meshuggah and Veil of Maya so if you’re into death metal that can make you move more than in the pit, definitely check them out.
Signs of the Swarm is next to take the stage and were already one of my favorite bands, so maybe I’m biased. But I’d rather be biased than disappointed and I was surely not disappointed. David Simonich is full of power, both physically and vocally. He easily dominates the stage and invigorates the crowd. The band’s true-to-deathcore sounds have heads banging, fists pumping, and circle pits erupting song after song. Bobby Crow’s ruthless blast beats paired with Carl Schultz’s punishing riffs and Michael Cassese’s thundering bass lines rank SOTS among the elite for getting your body moving, blood pumping, and head banging.
Archspire was flawless, plain, and simple. Their live performance translated their albums perfectly, allowing the crowd to keep time with the band, dog pile for sing-alongs, and surf the crowd. The string work, both guitar, and bass, is impeccably proficient and precise. Vocalist Oli Peters, rallies the crowd not only through his lyrics but his spirited antics on stage. Instigating the crowd with an impromptu game of Twister was one of the most entertaining things I’ve seen. The band’s hard-hitting music combined with their playful nature definitely sets them apart in the deathcore scene.
What can be said about Whitechapel that hasn’t already been said? Their live performance is perfect, flawless in every way. No frontman can work the crowd like Phil and he yet again proves that. Song to song, he changes the air in the venue, taking the crowd on an emotional journey through anger, pain, and loss. The band performed the entire album, The Valley, punctuated with fan expectations like The Saw is the Law and Possession. With a three-song encore, Whitechapel left fans wanting more. I can’t wait to hear and see what they do next.

Unearth, Upon a Burning Body, 156 Silence at The Rock, Tucson
(by Stephanie Green)
Unearth delivered a killer set, laced with expected tracks like My Will be Done and Zombie Autopilot and a few new ones from their latest release, The Wretched, The Ruinous. The show Saturday night was effectively the record release. As expected, the band was high energy, engaging the crowd and rallying pit and pit. Not to be missed is the return of drummer, Mike Justian, who takes Unearth back to their earlier sound from The Oncoming Storm. After leaving the show, I checked out the latest album and, as a long-time Unearth fan, I am pleased. Unearth has stayed true to their sound and delivers a no-nonsense, in-your-face metalcore album full of opportunities for circle pits and sing-alongs on their next tour.
The energy experienced when Upon a Burning Body plays is unmatched. Danny Leal is as charismatic as they come. His million-dollar grin compounded by anthem-inducing lyrics and a larger-than-life stage presence rallies the crowd and makes everyone move. Just like their home state of Texas, everything is bigger and better when UPABB plays; the pit is bigger, the sing-alongs are louder and the crowd is rowdier. With a heavy mix of groovy riffs and kick drums you can feel in your chest, the crowd was lucky UPABB didn’t literally bring the roof down.
As a native of Pennsylvania, I’m proud to say I share my home state with talent like 156/Silence. Blurring the lines between post-hardcore and metalcore, every member of the band delivers a lively, soul-shattering experience, clearing living their passion for life through their music. Meaningful lyrics about the problems we all experience in society today and supported by heavy-hitting hardcore beats, shredding solos, and funk-infused bass lines. The breakdowns make you want to get in the pit and not a single head in the venue wasn’t bobbing up and down.

Hail Sagan, featuring guitarist, Nick Quijano, formerly of Powerman 5000, along with vocalist, Sagan Amery, have released a lyric video for their latest single “Fly Seraphim Wings.” The song is the second single off of the band’s upcoming EP “Disclosure” set for release on April 14th.
The mesmerizing theme of the lyric video showcases an angel (Sagan Amery) descending onto the world amidst the backdrop of a UFO invasion. Powerful lyrics and haunting melodies captivate the audience with both a warning for humanity and a sense of peace. On a side note, this is Sagan’s playing guitar in a video debut. Normally she is just singing in the videos, but now we all have visual of her guitar skills on video. But don’t let that make you think she just picked up the guitar, she’s been rocking the guitar since the age of 12. Looks like Hail Sagan has a third guitarist!
“Fly Seraphim Wings” is a rock ballad compared to some of the heavier metal tracks boasted on the EP. The band said the soon-to-be-released six songs go from singing to screaming, to everywhere in between; something for everyone, “Disclosure” is the first half of a two-part concept album.
Please watch, enjoy, and share the video for “Fly Seraphim Wings”….

Into The Pit with REDDSTAR
Into The Pit with REDDSTAR:
Over the past year and a half the world faced a global shut down not like our generation has ever seen. Entertainment took a huge plummet shutting down live entertainment, and causing social distancing to where bands, and artists relied on technology to continue to work on music and perform. Many bands broke up, jobs where lost, and many people did not know what to do with their time in solitude. While all of this was happening a group of musicians around the country did the unthinkable at the time by starting a new project while not living in the same states facing travel bans. Mikey Lopez, Russell Ray, Erik Tisinger, and Daemien Drake worked together as a team creating demos that turned into monster tracks with the help of their friend and producer Sahaj Ticotin and REDDSTAR was born. Since their conception they’ve also worked with video producer Brian Cox, and an A list management team and law firm to back them up. Even though this band is currently in its infant stage the tables will turn soon as this band will be on top sooner than we think.
